I’ve always been writing. First, it started out as stories and crayon illustrations on printer paper, then journals, and now here on this blog. I don’t write often, but when I do, it’s because I feel passionate about something. Thanks for stopping by! <3
I’ve always been a writer. When I was in elementary school, I loved to craft my own stories and draw illustrations to match. In middle school, the love continued except instead of stories for my stuffed animals, my writing was filled with things any pre-teen would be writing about. In my case, it was more than likely my crush of the moment, meeting my favorite band, or my friends. During my junior year of high school, I discovered a passion for journaling. I wrote every single day about what was going on in my life. My hopes, my wishes, my fears. Everything. In college, the journaling stopped, but the writing didn’t. I moved on to poetry, short stories, and even created a short screenplay for a class I was taking. That screenplay idea than turned into an idea for a novel. And yes, after seven years, I finally finished a first draft of it.
That’s the backstory.
This blog, well the original version of it, began in 2011 after I completed a Master’s Degree in Marketing. I needed to rediscover my love of writing. I needed to be creative again. So, A Glimpse Into Eryn’s World was born. When it began, I had no idea what I was doing. I had a free WordPress theme on WordPress.com, and I just rolled with it. In 2014, I took the blog to the next level and went self-hosted. I went through a lot of looks, but was never truly happy with how it appeared. After four years, chronicling a whole slew of things, I decided that the blog was too all over the place, and not what I wanted it to be anymore. Instead of revamping that blog again, I knew it was time to rebrand and create a new one. But don’t worry. It will stick around if you ever want to get to take a look at the older posts.
It’s Eryn E was born. And I’m ready to go for another 5 years here.
A little about me:
I’m 31, married to the love of my life, and a dog-mom to a rambunctious hound mix named Ace, who we rescued from Great Dog Rescue New England in June 2016 (two days after my 30th birthday). You won’t see much of my husband or my home on here (I like to try to keep my life as private as possible, at least in terms of blogging), but he will be referenced. You’ll definitely see the dog. I post an insane amount of pictures of him on my instagram account.
I work full-time in publishing, own a photography business that was also started in 2011, teach beginner riding lessons at the stable I grew up riding and showing with, and always have my nose in a book. I’ve suffered from severe anxiety since I was 18, and just recently became open about my battles with it. I want others to know they aren’t alone.
I love traveling, but hate flying. But it hasn’t stopped me yet. I have an extensive travel bucket list, and can only dream of visiting most of these places someday. I’m a self-proclaimed eternal optimist (despite seeing the occasional rant from me) and compulsive dreamer.
I have an unnatural love for bacon and iced coffee (not together… unless it’s breakfast. Then they are most definitely together). I love craft beer, especially ones with fruit (Shipyard Melonhead and Hell or High Watermelon are two that come to mind), and there is always a bottle of wine or bubbly open in my fridge. And you can never have too much pizza. Okay, you can. But, it’s definitely one of my top food groups.
Most of all…
I truly believe that life is what you make of it.
